The centerpiece of this space is a new contemporary fireplace, built directly in front of the old one, creating a stunning modern focal point. The minimalist design, with a black surround and contemporary gas insert, is complemented by custom-built light-toned geometric tiles that add texture and visual interest.
Adjacent to the fireplace, contemporary shelves were installed to display the homeowner’s collection of rare and unusual books. These shelves not only add functionality but also elevate the room’s modern aesthetic.
To further update the room, the original carpet was removed and replaced with durable, stylish Cortec flooring. This flooring choice brings warmth and continuity throughout the space, seamlessly connecting the living area to the rest of the home.
Additionally, the outdated popcorn ceiling was removed, allowing for a cleaner, more modern look that enhances the room’s openness.
